Product Description
A grounding rod is designed to protect us against electricity that comes from the utility transformer. Its purpose is to connect electrical equipment to the service to provide a safe path back to the source so that if there's a ground fault it will complete the circuit and trip the breaker. If you place a current probe around the conductor going to earth or the ground rod itself you should never see any current flowing on the conductor.Nominal diameter: 5/8 in.Length: 8 in.Galvanized coating: ASTM-A 123 or ASTM-A 153ANSI/UL 467ANSI/NEMA GR-1CSA - Canadian standardRural utilities service listed and acceptedSteel-ASTM-A-529/grade 50 or cold drawn ASTM-A-1080/C-1008-1035Tensile strength 80,000-100,000 psiGalvanized to ASTM-A-153 for zinc-coated corrosion protection after fabricationGalvanized ground rod surfaces are rigid, free of seams and slivers; galvanized coating is smooth with no burrs or runsUnique four-sided pointCompany name, part number, UL and/or CSA Logo and control number within 12 in. of the blunt end of each rodProduct Videos
